What To Bring
Camping gear, tents, ropes, poles, pegs etc ......
New Year ConFest can be very hot and sunny so bring tarps and shadecloth to make yourself a sunshelter, bring water spray bottles and a sarong or cloth to wet and drape around you. Rain and storms do happen, even during summer, make sure you have waterproof storage for your valuables. An umbrella is useful for both sun and rain. Bring an esky to keep your food and drinks cold, ice is available during ConFest from the roving ice truck twice a day. Bring a water tank to fill at night when the piped water is cool so you have cool drinking water for the next day.
There are a few thistles and other prickles on site so a small spade or other tool will be useful for removing them from your campsite, remember to bring bags or containers to take your rubbish home in.
As people arrive and leave navigating the site can become tricky, bring torches & batteries, and something to make your campsite distinctive, flags, banners, solar powered fairy and other lights (not gas or flame) and glow in the dark decor to help you find your camp again.
Some warm clothes and bedding as the nights may be cold, particularly at Autumn ConFest, and some wet weather gear in case of rain.
Earplugs are good for blocking out noise when you want to sleep.
It is a good idea to bring some eating and cooking utensils for use at the community cooking spaces and the market. Some food for yourself and to share, as well as any dietary specific food you may need.
As you wander about ConFest carry a cup and have a cuppa at the community spaces. Adopt a communal kitchen space; bring flags/banners, cushions and other comforts to decorate and furnish it, solar powered fairy and other lights are simple way to shed a little light in these spaces at night.
* Please note that candles and mosquito coils cannot be used anywhere at ConFest. Gas lighting can only be used in the approved and prepared firecircle/kitchen areas.
Water bottle, sun block and protective clothing, some electrolytes in case of dehydration. A basic first aid kit as well as your personal medications,Our wonderful First Aid Crew have put together a very thorough Insect repellent and bite treatment, mosquito nets.
Swimming aids and water toys for kids of all ages, a kiddie pool, tub or baby bath is useful for keeping the little ones cool and clean. Please bring only eco friendly soaps and detergents.
Confest site can be quite large and there are some prickles, so bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes/sandals. Parents will find a stroller/pram with sturdy wheels and tyres very helpful. A push-bike is a good way to get around site, please have your name clearly and permanently marked on it. Tyre punctures are common so a puncture repair kitis a good idea.
Bring games, books, toys and craft materials to share, musical instruments, your singing voices and dancing feet.
* please note that there are restrictions on amplified music/sound at ConFest.
Bring your art and painting gear, dress ups, face paints and sense of fun.
